Connor Lien hit a walk-off single to left field to score Victor Caratini as Rome posted a 5-4 win Tuesday over West Virginia at State Mutual Stadium in Rome, Ga.
Lien finished the day 3 for 4 with a double and a pair of RBIs for the Braves (15-36), while Johan Camargo added two hits. Steve Janas (1-0) earned the win for Rome, allowing one run on five hits over four innings.
Brett McKinney (1-2) was tabbed with the loss, giving up one run on three hits in one-third of an inning for the Power (18-33). Harold Ramirez and Justin Maffei had two hits apiece for West Virginia. The Power and Braves will finish their three-game series with Rome today at 1 p.m.

STATE AM QUALIFIER: Eighteen players qualified Monday at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane for the 95th West Virginia Amateur Championship, to be held June 10-13 at The Greenbrier.
Josh Holmes of Huntington took home top honors with an even-par 72, followed one stroke back by Adam Sholes of Charleston with a 73. Five more qualifying spots will be decided Thursday at Lewisburg Elks in Lewisburg, while two slots will be filled at Locust Hill in Charles Town. (For complete results, see Page 2B).

JUNIOR TOUR: The Callaway Junior Tour Kicked off its season Monday at The Greenbrier Resort, where 200 players took to the Meadows course for two separate events.
In the morning session, Colin Bowles of Oceana took home top honors by shooting a 3-under 67 to win the 13-14 age group along with the low round of the day. Craig Buchanon captured first place in the 17-18 age group. Abby Roberts of Parkersburg took home the girls low round of the day with a 77.
In the afternoon round, Martinsburg's Sam Romine had the low round for the boys (75) and Jackie Cunningham took home low round for the girls (86). Logan Collins, Andy Michael, and Sammy White took home first place trophies in the 15-16, 13-14, and 12 and under divisions, respectively.
