The Mountain State Athletic Conference softball tournament was postponed Tuesday because of rain.
The semifinals will take place at No. 1 Hurricane, with No. 2 Spring Valley (15-4) playing No. 3 Ripley (13-5) at 5 p.m. today and the Redskins (23-1), the defending Class AAA state champions and No. 1 team in the state poll, taking on No. 4 Cabell Midland (18-6) at 7. The consolation game will be at 5 p.m. Thursday with the championship at 7.
Place-winner games will be held through Thursday.

WVU SPORTS: HERD BASEBALL: AREA SIGNINGS: Herbert Hoover's Hannah King, a two-time Class AA first-team all-state selection in volleyball, has committed to play at West Virginia Wesleyan.
King played for the Class AA state tournament runner-up Huskies last fall.
n Nitro's Laine Roberts, a standout on the girls soccer team, will sign with Fairmont State at 11:20 a.m. today in the high school's library. Roberts was Class AAA all-state honorable mention in 2011 and 2013.
n Alyssa Bonham, a four-year starter for the St. Albans softball team, has accepted an offer to play softball for Concord in the 2014-15 academic year.
